Superintendent of the Ministry of Oil said, "on the strength of the Principle 44 notification, 92 oil companies shall be divested to the people."
According to the Mehr reports, quoting from the Public Relations of the Oil Ministry, Gholam Hossein Nowzari detailed the latest decisions made by the Oil Ministry’s Executive Headquarters of the notification of Principle 44 of the Constitution. He said that all the refineries of the country and all the state-owned petrochemical complexes, except three major ones are subject of "Paragraph A" of the notification and 100 percents of their shares may be supplied. The three major petrochemical companies include Imam Port Petrochemical Company, Amirkabir, and Maroon Petrochemical Complexes, which are suppliers of inputs of other petrochemical companies. They are subject of "Paragraph C" of notification and 80 percents of their shares shall be divested.
He added that 28 percents of the provincial gas companies and the petrochemical commercial company with all the foreign-based offices of the said company are deemed as subjects of the "Paragraph C" of the notification and 80 percents of their shares are to be divested to people. Consequently, the number of companies affiliated to the Oil Ministry and subject of "Paragraph C" of the notification shall amount to 52.
Regarding the situation of some companies, such as Oil Engineering and Development Company, Gas Engineering and Development Company, Refining Structure and Engineering Company, and the Petrochemical Distribution, Engineering and Development Company, the superintendent of the Oil Ministry underscored that they are responsible for development projects of the four major companies of the Oil Ministry. “They only undertake managerial roles, lacking any assets and their divesting, consequently, is not at hand at all.”
“Nikoo Company is one of other managerial companies under the auspices of the Oil Ministry, which shall be an exception to the divesting process”, Mr. Nowzari added.
