Advisor to Iran Privatization Organization (IPO) stated in the past year total number of 190 public companies, worth more than 280,000 billion Rials has been valued and offered. Among which 71 companies with total worth of 35,000 billion Rials was divested.

Advisor to Iran Privatization Organization (IPO) stated in the past year total number of 190 public companies, worth more than 280,000 billion Rials has been valued and offered. Among which 71 companies with total worth of 35,000 billion Rials was divested.

Public relations liaison of Iran Privatization Organization (IPO) Mr. SeyyedJafarSobhani said:”37 percent of total offers made by Iran Privatization Organization (IPO) and 12 percent of total worth of valuations has been successfully divested to the private sector, which indicates a higher success rate than offerings during the 11th government.

He added “In the 12th government in addition to preventing transition of companies to un-divestible category of companies, but also significant steps were taken in order to remove barriers from divestiture of a large number of companies. “

Mr. Sobhani also noted: “List of approved companies for divestiture is almost twice as much as the number of approved companies in the past Persian calendar year.”

Advisor to the president of IPO asserted :” During 11th and 12th government 470,827 billion Rials of state-owned companies and shares has been divested, which is equivalent to 32 percent of the total divestitures made to this date. “

He also added: “From 21st March 2001 to 23rd August 2018 a total of 2000 number of companies were put forth for divestiture. Among which 1371 number of companies (69 percent) have been completely divested or removed from the list of divestitures. Four companies are offered to move to 3rd group of companies and 625 number of companies are in the procedure of divestitures. “
